Most Improved Women's Team 2018/2019 - Tina Graudina & Anastasija Kravcenoka (LAT)
The 21-year-old Tina Graudina and 22-year-old Anastasija Kravcenoka ended the season in buoyant mood after they ensured a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games for a Latvian women’s team. And their improvement in 2019 meant that for once the focus was on Latvia’s women’s team rather than their mens’.
Graudina and Kravcenoka claimed one of two places on offer at the Tokyo Olympic Qualification Tournament that took place in Haiyang in China in September by beating Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympians Barbara Hermannova and Marketa Slukova in their final.
It capped a season in which the pair continued to develop on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, where their best finish was a quarterfinal at the Yangzhou 4-Star.
Their other major success came in Moscow where they topped the podium at the CEV European Championships following a win over Poland's Katarzyna Kociolek and Kinga Wojtasik.
